Beth Hyndman

Whilst completing a BSc Neuroscience degree at Cardiff University, Beth worked at the UK Dementia Research Institute investigating therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative disease. Using genetic markers in Drosophila (fruit flies) she characterised a novel model for Huntington’s Disease for future research into diseased cell degeneration. Since graduating, Beth has been working at multiple NHS Test and Trace sites, helping identify COVID-19 levels across the UK throughout the pandemic. Beth is enthusiastic in uncovering advancements to tackle the decline in cognitive health in the aging population, where both neurological and psychological impairments are significantly impacting longevity.
