Clearer vision ahead: 3 natural remedies for relieving strain and promoting health of the eyes

The way we live and the nature of our jobs affect our eyes.

Working long hours on a computer or browsing on a phone continuously increases exposure to blue light and screen time. In the long run, such a lifestyle can cause strain, headaches, and weaken our eyes.

Ayurvedic expert Dr Dimple Jangda suggests three ways to reduce pressure on your eyes and enable you to take good care of them.

Due to our continual exposure to mobile phones, laptops, and desktops on a day-to-day, hour-to-hour basis, your eyes have been consuming “a lot of blue light,” she wrote on Instagram [1].

In addition, she suggested the following tips to help:

Wearing reading glasses while reading is a good idea if you don’t use power glasses. Get any reading glasses that block blue light and use them to read from your phone or laptop, she said. When worn while reading, it reduces the strain on your eyes. [2].

It can be beneficial to keep your eyes cool after working with computers all day to reduce strain.

Using products with cooling properties, such as grated cucumber, cucumber juice on cotton pads, rose water and tea bags that contain flavonoids and are anti-inflammatory, is recommended by Dr Jangda. To reduce inflammation and heat, apply this around your eyes.

In addition, she recommends applying kajal with almond oil or ghee to your lower eyelids to improve good heat (pitta).

She said this helps your tear ducts release tears and debris trapped in them. Kohl is a popular beauty product on the Indian subcontinent [3].

Even those who aren’t heavily into makeup, swear by the subtle effectiveness of kohl, which enhances their look and makes their eyes seem bigger and more defined.

In conclusion, taking care of your eyes is essential for maintaining good overall health, especially in the digital age where many of us spend hours in front of screens.

One effective way to do this is by taking regular screen breaks to give your eyes a rest and reduce eye strain.

It is also vital to listen to your body and take breaks when you feel tired or uncomfortable. As a result, ignoring eye strain can result in more serious eye problems in the future.

To prevent eye damage and maintain healthy vision, it is necessary to prioritize eye care and change your habits.
