Israel-based medtech targets easier, better-tolerated and more widely used 24-hour blood pressure monitoring in the US.
Accurately detecting high blood pressure has long been a pain for patients and doctors alike. Traditional 24-hour monitoring involves a cuff that inflates around your arm throughout the day and night. The result? Interrupted sleep, awkward arm squeezes and incomplete readings that frustrate both patients and clinicians.
Israel-based med-tech company Biobeat Technologies thinks it has a better way. Its patch-worn, cuffless monitor is designed to be worn like a sticker on the chest, tracking blood pressure for a full 24 hours without interrupting daily life. When the test period ends, the patient removes the patch, and a detailed report is automatically generated for the doctor. No cords. No alarms. No awkward squeezes.
The comfort factor drives compliance. Before, patients using traditional cuff-based monitors get incomplete readings. Movement, sleep disruption and the annoyance of repeated inflations mean missing data is common.
Compliance matters because consistent, accurate readings are what help doctors make better treatment decisions. With Biobeat’s patch, patients can go about their lives while their blood pressure is tracked automatically. That simple improvement could make monitoring more reliable and hypertension more manageable.
Biobeat announced it had secured $50 million in Series B financing, led by Ally Bridge Group, OrbiMed Advisors and Elevage Medical. A strategic investor also participated.
The funds will help Biobeat expand its US commercialization efforts, build out its field sales team and work toward making its cuffless monitor a standard tool for doctors treating over 100 million hypertensive patients in the US [1].
Raymond W Cohen, Executive Chairman, expressed his delight in welcoming world-class venture capital investors Ally Bridge, OrbiMed, and Elevage to the Biobeat team.
“We believe that Biobeat will have a profoundly positive impact on clinical utilization of ABPM, similar to what was experienced with ambulatory ECG monitoring once a patch-worn device became available [1].”
Innovation like this doesn’t just improve convenience; it has the potential to extend healthy lifespans. Hypertension, left unchecked, accelerates cardiovascular aging and chronic disease. By making blood pressure monitoring seamless, Biobeat empowers patients and clinicians with data that can guide early interventions, fine-tune medication and prevent long-term complications.
Arik Ben Ishay, CEO of Biobeat, said that “the time has finally arrived to make ABPM a true standard of care to help diagnosis and titrate anti-hypertensive medications for the over 100 million hypertensive patients in the US [1].”
Biobeat’s creation is more than a gadget. It’s a tool for longer, healthier living, a small patch with outsized potential to change how we manage one of the most common risk factors for premature aging and disease.
With fresh funding in hand, Biobeat is poised to scale its US operations. If adoption grows, the company could fundamentally change how we track blood pressure, moving away from bulky, uncomfortable devices toward something that fits naturally into daily life.
Sometimes, the smallest innovations, like a sticker you wear on your chest, can have the biggest impact on healthspan. Better monitoring today means earlier intervention tomorrow, and potentially, a longer, healthier life for millions of people.
