Alchemab Therapeutics has appointed Ulrich Wendt, PhD MBA, as its new Chief Business Officer to lead business development and expand partnerships with biopharma and adjacent sectors, according to the company. The move builds on Alchemab’s recent series of pharma licensing agreements, extension of Series A funding and advancement of its first therapeutic asset into clinical trials.

Previously, Wendt held roles at Sanofi including Global Head of Business Development Immunology and leadership positions in the company’s diabetes and primary care business units, where he oversaw global search, evaluation and alliance management. His experience spans more than a decade in securing high-value partnerships across all stages of the biopharma pipeline.

Alchemab, based in Cambridge, England, uses an AI-enabled discovery platform that integrates a large antibody database from disease‑resilient individuals with a proprietary search engine designed to identify protective antibodies. The company claims this approach has generated a broad pipeline of treatments for difficult‑to‑treat diseases.

The company states its first asset entered clinical trials in 2025 through a licensing agreement with Lilly. Wendt’s responsibilities will include leading global business development, alliance management and contributing to corporate strategy as Alchemab continues scaling its platform capabilities.
