Alnylam is launching coordinated initiatives to accelerate earlier detection and improve care coordination for transthyretin-mediated amyloid cardiomyopathy. The company is partnering with Viz.ai to develop an AI-enabled care pathway that pairs an FDA-cleared echocardiography algorithm, Us2.ai, with electronic health record connectivity to support earlier recognition, diagnostic evaluation and referral. The collaboration includes the AWARE implementation study to evaluate the integration of AI-enabled screening into routine clinical workflows.
The company claims the AWARE study will begin at five pilot U.S. health systems later this year to generate real-world evidence to inform broader, scalable adoption. In parallel, Alnylam is supporting a three-year American Heart Association initiative that will convene a 10-site multidisciplinary learning collaborative to identify gaps, share best practices and scale models for diagnosing and managing ATTR-CM, with insights to be disseminated nationally.
Alnylam frames these efforts as part of a system-level strategy to move diagnosis earlier, reduce underdiagnosis and enable more consistent, coordinated care at scale.
The company will discuss the initiatives in an investor webinar scheduled for today at 9:30 am ET, with an archived webcast to follow.
