Alnylam Pharmaceuticals has launched its Alnylam 2030 Strategy, a long-term plan designed to expand its role in RNAi (RNA interference) therapeutics and broaden patient impact. The strategy outlines objectives across four pillars: substantially growing revenue beyond current core products, advancing a diversified pipeline of investigational RNAi medicines, entering new therapeutic areas, and pursuing innovative modalities beyond traditional RNAi.
Under the plan, Alnylam aims to leverage its established commercial success in rare genetic diseases—including transthyretin amyloidosis and acute hepatic porphyria—to drive revenue growth through existing product launches and geographic expansion. The company also intends to accelerate late-stage clinical programmes targeting additional diseases, with an emphasis on both rare and more prevalent indications that could broaden its addressable patient population.
Pipeline development is a central focus of the 2030 strategy, with Alnylam highlighting several mid- and late-stage candidates in areas such as cardiometabolic diseases, CNS conditions, and liver diseases. The company underscores its commitment to delivering a steady cadence of potential product milestones through the end of the decade.
To support these ambitions, Alnylam plans to invest in research and platform technologies that extend RNAi’s therapeutic reach, including next-generation delivery systems and combination approaches. The strategy also emphasises operational execution—aligning commercial infrastructure, regulatory engagement and manufacturing scale-up—to ensure readiness as new candidates progress toward approval.
While Alnylam did not provide specific financial targets within the announcement, the company stated that the 2030 plan reflects a framework for sustained growth, deeper scientific exploration, and expanded patient access, positioning it to remain a leader in RNA-based medicines through the next decade.
