AlzeCure announced on 16 June 2026, that its Phase Ib clinical study of ACD856, the lead candidate in the NeuroRestore platform, completed on schedule with positive results.
The trial evaluated safety and tolerability following repeated administration of higher doses than previously studied and measured systemic and central nervous system exposure.
According to the company, ACD856 was well tolerated with no substance-related safety findings and showed expected increases in concentration in both blood and cerebrospinal fluid; the company claims these data broaden the therapeutic window and provide a solid foundation for dose selection in future clinical studies.
AlzeCure said the results strengthen continued development of ACD856 across indications including Alzheimer’s disease and depression and support planned Phase II clinical studies expected to start in 2026, supported by a European Innovation Council grant awarded in 2025.
The company also cites preclinical evidence that NeuroRestore substances are Trk-PAMs that enhance BDNF and NGF signaling, improve synaptic communication, and display neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects.
