AlzeCure Pharma AB announced in Stockholm that the last patient’s last visit (LPLV) has occurred in the ongoing Phase Ib clinical trial of ACD856, the lead candidate in the NeuroRestore platform.

The Phase Ib study evaluates safety and tolerability after repeated administration of higher doses and measures drug concentrations in the body. The company says prior data indicate ACD856 crosses the blood-brain barrier at relevant concentrations and activates pathways implicated in cognition and depression.

Preclinical NeuroRestore data show strengthened neuronal communication, improved learning and memory, and neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory and potential disease-modifying effects in models; the mechanism involves Trk-PAM modulation of BDNF and NGF signaling.

ACD856 has completed phase I studies and is being prepared for phase II, and it was awarded a major EU grant from the European Innovation Council in 2025. The company notes the trial progression supports further development of ACD856 for Alzheimer’s disease and other indications.
