Amprion has launched SAAmplify-αSYN Plus, a next-generation cerebrospinal fluid test designed to detect alpha-synuclein aggregates with an MSA-like amplification profile, and made it available on 15 September 2026.
The test features an extended run time while maintaining the same reporting turnaround time and is intended to provide biological information to help differentiate multiple system atrophy from Parkinson’s disease and other atypical parkinsonian disorders.
In validation, the company claims the assay demonstrated 81% sensitivity and 95.2% specificity for detection of the MSA-like amplification profile while maintaining robust detection of PD/DLB-like profiles.
Amprion plans to present related research at the 2026 International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders in Seoul, 4-8 October, including four posters and two oral presentations and will be at booth 210.
The company also notes recent collaborations to expand testing capacity, including a partnership with Macquarie University in Australia and a licensing collaboration with MLM Medical Labs to support biopharma-sponsored clinical trials in Europe.
