Aspen Neuroscience announced it has closed a $40 million debt facility with Silicon Valley Bank to support development of its personalized cell therapy pipeline for Parkinson’s disease. According to the company, the non-dilutive financing will provide additional capital to advance clinical trials and manufacturing efforts.
The company said the funding is structured as a term loan, giving it flexibility to draw funds based on development milestones. Aspen Neuroscience claims this financing complements its existing cash reserves, extending operational runway as it progresses its lead candidate, ANPD001, through a Phase 1/2a trial.
Aspen Neuroscience also said the debt facility will help scale its fully integrated manufacturing operations in San Diego, where it produces autologous neuron replacement therapies derived from patients’ own induced pluripotent stem cells. The company claims this approach is designed to reduce production timelines and maintain quality control under a single operational framework.
According to the company, securing this funding supports its long-term strategy to bring personalized regenerative treatments to patients with Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. Aspen Neuroscience said it remains focused on advancing ANPD001 in clinical testing and exploring additional indications for its cell therapy platform.
