Avaí Bio will present new data on an α-Klotho cell-based therapy developed with Austrianova through their 50/50 joint venture Klothonova at the Second Annual Klotho Conference in September.
The presentation is scheduled to be delivered by Rahul Pawa, chief production officer at Austrianova, and will focus on producing the longevity protein α-Klotho from encapsulated cells using Austrianova’s Cell-in-a-Box technology. The company claims the approach is designed to sustainably restore circulating α-Klotho levels and support potential therapeutic applications in aging and age-related conditions.
Avaí Bio, formerly Avant Technologies and trading on OTCQB as AVAI, is advancing two cell-therapy programs: an encapsulated insulin-producing cell therapy for type 1 and insulin-dependent type 2 diabetes and the α-Klotho longevity program, structured through joint ventures and licensing with specialized partners.
The announcement follows a company disclosure and underscores Avaí Bio’s partner-led, early-stage development strategy in the cell-based longevity field.
