Biophysical Therapeutics has launched IF1, a consumer longevity skincare brand, and opened pre-orders for an anti-aging moisturizer.

The initial production run is limited to 500 units, priced at $120 each, and profits from sales will be reinvested to fund the company’s drug programs targeting cancer, age-related diseases including Alzheimer’s disease, and aging itself.

Biophysical Therapeutics was founded in 2022 by Dr. Michael Forrest and is advised by Professor George Church of Harvard Medical School; the company specializes in computational biology and biophysical modeling. The firm claims it has delivered experimentally validated drugs that worked in vivo and holds granted patents.

The moisturizer is framed around the company’s research on IF1 protein; the company claims species with higher IF1 levels live longer and that increasing IF1 protein in mice reduces aging as measured by an aging biomarker.

Research cited in the release places anti-aging skincare at a $70 billion market and estimates economic benefits to the United States of roughly $38 trillion per year from increased life expectancy.
