On World Alzheimer’s Day, C2N Diagnostics announced a UK partnership with Cambridge Cognition and The Alzheimer’s Trust to create an integrated diagnostic pathway combining C2N’s MHRA-registered PrecivityAD2 blood test, Cambridge Cognition’s CANTAB Pathway digital cognitive assessments and The Alzheimer’s Trust’s national phlebotomy and MRI infrastructure to accelerate diagnosis and care pathways across the UK.
UK health care professionals will be able to order PrecivityAD2 and CANTAB Pathway through The Alzheimer’s Trust.
PrecivityAD2 uses high-resolution mass spectrometry to measure Aβ42/Aβ40 and %p-tau217 and algorithmically generates an Amyloid Probability Score 2, and the company claims the test received MHRA registration in 2025 and subsequent FDA clearance.
According to the company, validation analyses and a Nature Medicine study reported that combining a digital cognitive test with the blood biomarker detected Alzheimer’s disease with about 90% accuracy versus typical GP accuracy of about 70%.
The initiative is presented as targeting long NHS diagnostic waits and aims to support earlier, more accurate diagnoses.
