Cellino has appointed Ed Tekeian as Chief Operating Officer, adding seasoned operational leadership as the company builds out its infrastructure for personalized cell‑based therapies, the company announced. In the newly created role at the Cambridge, Massachusetts‑based biotech, Tekeian will oversee operations across engineering, platform development and manufacturing as Cellino advances its scalable autonomous biomanufacturing systems for patient‑specific regenerative medicines.
Tekeian previously joined Cellino in 2024 as Senior Vice President of Engineering, where he led the development and expansion of the company’s engineering organisation and contributed to progress on its automated biomanufacturing platform. According to the company, the platform is designed to enable industrial‑scale production of high‑quality induced pluripotent stem cells to support the development and deployment of personalised regenerative therapies.
Bringing more than 30 years of engineering and operational experience across hardware and software domains, Tekeian has led multidisciplinary teams in mechanical, electrical, software and manufacturing functions, the company says. His background includes leadership roles such as Head of Software at Formlabs and Chief Technology Officer at Kuvée and Sample6 Technologies, with earlier senior positions at 3M Health Care, Brontes Technologies and Zmed Inc.
According to the company, Tekeian’s appointment follows Cellino’s efforts to scale its autonomous manufacturing systems as part of broader work to make personalised regenerative medicine more accessible. Cellino is advancing technologies from iPSC manufacturing to tissue replacement and has received designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its advanced manufacturing technology.
The company develops foundational infrastructure and platforms intended to support personalised regenerative medicines that could address a range of diseases through scalable cell production.
