Celularity and MuseCell Innovations announced a U.S. manufacturing collaboration to establish production of Dezawa MuseCells at Celularity’s Florham Park, New Jersey facility.
The initial program is intended to authenticate and manufacture Dezawa MuseCells from qualified perinatal, bone marrow or adipose sources using the licensed Dezawa Method and to include manufacturing of DMC-derived products such as Dezawa MuseExosomes and Dezawa MuseSecretome.
Each product will be supported by dedicated manufacturing processes, analytical characterization, specifications and release criteria. The parties intend to expand the manufacturing relationship across additional products and programs after the initial project. MCI projects the expanded relationship could yield more than $300 million in aggregate purchases from Celularity over the next five years.
The collaboration is anticipated to create more than 200 high-tech jobs at the Florham Park site during the scope of the expanded collaboration.
According to the company, neither cenplacel-L nor any MCI product described has U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval, and Muse cell biology has been described in more than 170 peer-reviewed publications.
