Circular Genomics and Altoida announced a collaboration to combine Circular Genomics’ blood-based circular RNA biomarker platform with Altoida’s AI-powered Digital NeuroMarker platform to develop a multimodal approach for Alzheimer’s drug development and frontline care.
The alliance aims to pair objective digital measures of cognition and function with blood-based molecular signatures to improve early identification, patient stratification and longitudinal monitoring, and to create a digital-first pathway that screens cognitive function followed by confirmatory blood testing.
The announcement follows publication of Circular Genomics’ Nature Medicine study showing a blood circRNA signature predicts progression to symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease years before clinical onset, and builds on Altoida research indicating the Digital NeuroMarker can detect mild cognitive impairment; Altoida is preparing a pivotal study intended to support FDA clearance.
The company claims the integrated workflow could reduce reliance on specialist assessments and scale routine clinical workflows, and notes the Digital NeuroMarker is currently for investigational use only and has not received FDA clearance or approval.
