Cognition Therapeutics presented an analysis from the Phase 2 COG1201 SHIMMER study of Zervimesine (CT1812) in dementia with Lewy bodies at the AD/PD 2026 conference in Copenhagen, held March 17-21, 2026. According to the company, the analysis focused on behavioral and psychiatric symptoms most commonly associated with DLB and found Zervimesine treatment produced an 86% slowing of decline on the NPI-12 versus placebo in that Phase 2 study.
The company claims the slowing reflects Zervimesine’s disease-modifying mechanism and reports directionally favorable impacts on cognitive fluctuations, memory, movement symptoms and activities of daily living compared with placebo. Based on a recent Type C meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the strength of the Phase 2 results, the company plans to advance Zervimesine into a late-stage trial for DLB psychosis, according to the company.
The company also notes Zervimesine has been generally well tolerated in clinical studies to date and is being studied in a separate Phase 2 START study in MCI and early Alzheimer’s disease. Posters from the AD/PD presentation were listed as available on the company website in accordance with the conference embargo policy.
