Cognito Therapeutics and Ochsner Health have launched a Brain Health Collaboratory to advance care models for cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease across the Gulf South. The Ochsner Collaboratory will pair Cognito’s investigational Spectris platform with Ochsner’s clinical network to create the region’s first statewide platform for non-invasive brain health innovation and to expand access across urban and rural communities.
The partners plan to develop a Brain Health Index to track cognitive health, disease progression and treatment response in real-world settings, and to explore integrating Spectris into care pathways for patients experiencing cognitive decline, including dual-eligible Medicare and Medicaid populations.
The collaboration will also seek clinical and health economics data to assess cost-effectiveness and potential coverage pathways with payors. According to the company, Spectris is an investigational at-home, non-invasive neuroprotective device that uses synchronized light and sound to evoke gamma-frequency brain activity and has shown early promise in preserving cognition and slowing brain atrophy; it received FDA Breakthrough Device designation in 2021 and is being evaluated in the HOPE Trial.
Cognito launched its first Brain Health Collaboratory with the West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute in November 2025.
