dōTERRA International, a global leader in essential oils and wellness solutions, has appointed Steve Powell as Executive Vice President of Innovation and Advanced Development, the company said. Powell joins dōTERRA with more than 25 years of experience in creating and scaling health, beauty, sleep and connected device platforms, and his work has generated over $1 billion in global revenue and 70 issued patents during his career.
According to the company, Powell will lead its innovation and advanced development strategy, focusing on next-generation device platforms that integrate intelligent technology, personalisation and wellness science. His background includes leadership roles in device and technology innovation, including at Nu Skin and Rodan + Fields, where he helped develop and scale connected wellness and skincare technologies.
dōTERRA said that Powell’s appointment strengthens its executive team as it seeks to broaden the role of technology in its product roadmap and wellness ecosystem. The company emphasised his strategic vision and operational expertise in driving cross-functional innovation initiatives and expanding differentiated platform offerings for consumers.
Powell will be based at dōTERRA’s global headquarters in Pleasant Grove, Utah, and work closely with product, engineering and commercial teams to accelerate development of devices and integrated solutions that complement the company’s essential oils and natural health products.
The appointment signals dōTERRA’s continued investment in combining wellness science with intelligent technology to enhance user experiences and expand beyond traditional product categories into advanced, tech-enabled wellness solutions.
