The company has launched The Elysium Longevity Institute, a physician-led clinical program meant to bring rigor to a field full of hype.

Walk into most longevity clinics, and you’ll find a familiar formula: a long menu of supplements, a handful of peptides, maybe an IV drip, and a sales pitch dressed up as science. Elysium Health is trying, deliberately, to be the opposite of that. The New York-based company opened The Elysium Longevity Institute (TELI), which it’s calling the biggest milestone in its history since launching back in 2015 [1].

The pitch is less about offering the newest intervention and more about deciding, carefully, which interventions actually deserve a patient’s trust. TELI is a personalized, physician-led program built around ongoing clinical oversight rather than a one-time consultation and a shopping list.

The Institute is led by Chief Medical Officer Dr Omar Baker, who spent nearly 15 years in clinical care and healthcare leadership, most recently as Executive Vice President and Deputy Chief Medical Officer at UnitedHealth Group, the country’s largest health care company. He’s working alongside Elysium co-founder and Chief Scientist Dr Leonard Guarente, a Novartis Professor of Biology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) whose research helped shape the modern understanding of cellular aging in the first place.

“Longevity medicine has reached an inflection point; scientific advances are arriving faster than ever before,” Baker said. “These advances raise the standard for how they should be delivered. Responsible longevity medicine isn’t defined by access to a particular therapy. It’s defined by thoughtful clinical judgment, individualized care, and rigorous quality standards.”

Baker explained that individuals seek to understand which health interventions suit them, how those measures function in unison, and how their care ought to adapt as their health progresses. He emphasized that combining these core principles with a commitment to producing new clinical evidence forms a model capable of advancing both individual patient outcomes and the broader medical field. Baker noted that this philosophy drives The Elysium Longevity Institute, expressing his belief that it represents the future of longevity medicine and sets the standard every patient deserves.

In practice, that means patients start with a comprehensive medical intake, after which licensed providers build a protocol around their actual medical history, lifestyle and goals, not a template applied to everyone who walks through the door. At launch, TELI offers 18 longevity-focused protocols spanning prescription medications, peptides, supplements and vitamins, delivered orally, intranasally or by injection, with clinical support built in to adjust the plan as a patient’s health changes over time.

The credibility argument

Guarente has spent decades studying why organisms age at the molecular level, work that’s arguably more foundational than commercial, and he frames the Institute as the next logical step from lab bench to exam room.

“For decades, the goal of aging research was to understand why we age,” he said. “Today, we’re entering a new era where many of those discoveries are beginning to translate into interventions that may actually help people live healthier, longer lives. The next challenge is ensuring those discoveries are translated responsibly into clinical practice while continuing to generate the evidence that moves the field forward. The Elysium Longevity Institute represents an important step toward making that vision a reality.”

Elysium co-founder and CEO Eric Marcotulli has been making a version of this argument since the company’s earliest supplement products.

“When we launched Elysium in 2015, our mission was to bring the world’s best aging research out of the lab and into people’s lives,” he said. “Over the past decade, we’ve helped define new categories in longevity, supported more than 20 clinical trials, and demonstrated that scientific rigor and commercial innovation can go hand in hand. Our responsibility isn’t simply to make the latest advances in longevity science available; it’s to evaluate them rigorously, deliver them responsibly, and continue contributing to the evidence that shapes the future of longevity medicine. That’s the standard we’ve worked to uphold for more than a decade, and it’s the standard that will define the Institute.”

Why a clinic, and why now

The longevity supplement market has exploded over the past several years, but so has consumer skepticism, fueled by a steady stream of products that promise more than the underlying research can support. Elysium’s bet is that what serious longevity consumers actually want isn’t a bigger menu of interventions’ it’s someone qualified telling them which ones are worth their time, money and, frankly, their trust.

TELI is currently open to eligible patients in the United States through elysiumhealthrx.com, and Elysium says its protocol list will keep expanding as new therapies clear the same evidentiary bar the company says it’s held itself to since 2015. Whether that bar holds up under real clinical scrutiny is something only time and outcomes data will tell. But as a statement of intent, in a field where “physician-led” too often just means a doctor’s name on a website, launching an actual clinical institute is a meaningfully different kind of bet.
