Fibrobiologics announced it has dedicated its laboratory facility as the Newlin-Linscomb Lab for Cell Therapeutics. According to the company, the naming recognizes support from private investment group Newlin-Linscomb that has backed its research and development efforts.
The company said the Houston-based facility will focus on advancing its pipeline of fibroblast cell therapies targeting chronic diseases, including multiple sclerosis and degenerative disc disease. Fibrobiologics claims the lab will support preclinical studies, process development and preparation for potential clinical trials.
According to the company, fibroblast cells offer regenerative and immunomodulatory properties that could be applied to conditions with significant unmet medical needs. The lab is expected to centralize work on candidate optimization, manufacturing protocols and quality systems.
Fibrobiologics also said the dedicated space reflects its long-term commitment to developing cell-based therapies that harness fibroblast biology. The company claims the investment in research infrastructure is an important step toward bringing innovative treatments closer to patients.
The company noted that the lab dedication aligns with its broader strategy to build proprietary platforms for fibroblast therapy and expand its clinical pipeline. Fibrobiologics said it continues to seek partnerships and additional funding to accelerate development.
