Function announced that it has acquired SuppCo, a platform that organizes and rates supplements, to integrate an independent trust layer with Function’s lab, imaging and clinician-guided offerings, according to the company.
SuppCo’s consumer app is described as consistently ranked among the App Store’s Health & Fitness category and the company claims it maintains ratings across more than 35,000 products and analysis of over 500,000 routines.
Earlier this year, SuppCo launched TESTED by SuppCo, which anonymously purchases off-the-shelf supplements and verifies active ingredients through an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory; prior testing efforts found roughly half of top-selling supplements failed basic label accuracy standards.
SuppCo investors include Greylock, Union Square Ventures, True Ventures, BoxGroup and Compound. Function also notes its membership offers access to more than 160 lab tests, optional MRI and CT services, and serves millions across all 50 states, the company claims.
