GenSight Biologics announced it has successfully raised nearly €1.7 million in a fundraising round aimed at supporting its clinical development programs and general corporate activities, according to the company. The financing was led by existing major shareholders, including Advent France Biotechnology and RA Capital Management, with participation from other institutional investors.
The company said the funds will be used to advance its pipeline of gene therapies, including GS010/LUMEVOQ for Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) caused by a mutated ND4 mitochondrial gene, as well as its ongoing REVISE early‑stage clinical study evaluating dose levels of the therapy. According to GenSight Biologics, the financing will also strengthen working capital and support strategic objectives through 2026.
The financing round was structured as a private placement offering of new shares at a price of €1.315 per share, the company said. Proceeds from the sale are expected to enhance liquidity and help fund operational milestones, including regulatory interactions and potential commercial planning.
GenSight Biologics reported that its existing investors participated strongly in the round, reflecting confidence in the company’s strategy and clinical progress. The company noted that the transaction closed without requiring underwriting or placement agents.
GenSight Biologics is a clinical‑stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing gene therapies for inherited retinal and neurodegenerative diseases, including LHON and other mitochondrial disorders.
