Gero announced $17 million in new financing, bringing total equity funding to $34 million to advance its physics-first AI drug discovery platform for aging and age-related diseases.

The financing follows a collaboration with Chugai Pharmaceutical, a Roche Group member, that includes an upfront payment and up to $250 million in milestone payments plus royalties; under that deal Chugai will develop drug candidates identified by Gero.

The firm says it trains AI world models on approximately 10 million curated longitudinal medical records selected from more than 100 million records and integrates molecular, omics and genetic data, which the company claims enables identification of hub targets shared across multiple chronic diseases.

Gero previously conducted a research collaboration with Pfizer in 2023 and the recent round included participation from Melnichek Investments and senior operators from the pharmaceutical and technology sectors.

The company plans to use proceeds to support preclinical development of its pipeline and to expand pharmaceutical partnerships as it advances both disease-modifying and aging-slowing programs in parallel.
