GlycanAge will convene leading academics and clinicians in Dubrovnik, Croatia, beginning 19 June for a conference marking 25 years of inflammaging research.
The event is co-organized with Mayo Clinic as part of the International Society for Applied Biological Sciences conference series, and Prof. Dr. Claudio Franceschi is scheduled to headline the scientific program. A clinical application day on 28 June will address how glycan-based markers can be incorporated into routine practice.
GlycanAge was founded as a research institute by Prof. Dr. Gordan Lauc and went commercial in 2020. The company states that its laboratory performs the majority of global glycan analyses and has received millions in grant funding and published hundreds of peer-reviewed papers.
GlycanAge measures blood glycans to assess whether antibodies behave pro- or anti-inflammatory. According to the company, glycan patterns can shift up to a decade before diseases such as diabetes, heart attack or stroke, and the test has a reported measurement error of less than one year. The company claims its test is available in 64 markets through about 2,000 clinics and direct-to-consumer channels and that it operates B2B laboratories in China and Mexico with plans for a facility in India.
GlycanAge has analyzed full glycan profiles of over 300,000 people and supported more than 350 peer-reviewed publications. The conference is intended to advance clinical adoption of chronic-inflammation testing.
