Insilico Medicine, a clinical-stage drug discovery company powered by generative artificial intelligence, will be included in the HKEX Tech 100 Index following methodology enhancements announced on 18 August 2026 that broaden exposure to emerging technology themes across the AI value chain.
The changes will be implemented after the market close on 11 September 2026 and take effect on 14 September 2026.
The HKEX Tech 100 is designed to measure the performance of 100 large Hong Kong-listed companies with high exposure to key tech themes and eligibility for Southbound Stock Connect, spanning six themes including artificial intelligence and biotech and pharmaceutical.
According to the company, inclusion validates its AI technology capabilities, is expected to enhance trading liquidity and expand capital access, and may drive inflows from index-tracking passive funds and Mainland Chinese investors.
Insilico reported approximately $106 million in revenue in the first half of 2026, a 287% year-over-year increase, and achieved an adjusted net profit exceeding $51 million, its first profitable half since listing.
Announced 2026 transactions totalled about $7.3 billion, and the cumulative contract value of major collaborations since 2021 reached approximately $11 billion.
The firm nominated nine development candidates within nine months of 2026, recorded eight clinical milestones, and advanced Rentosertib (ISM001-055) to a Phase III trial.
