Insilico Medicine announced the nomination of ISM0387, described as the first UAE‑based preclinical candidate and the company’s 30th AI‑supported preclinical candidate.
The nomination was jointly announced with the Emirates Drug Establishment and supported by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, the Department of Health Abu Dhabi and other local partners. According to the company, ISM0387 is an MTA‑cooperative PRMT5 inhibitor with an AI‑designed novel structure that exhibits improved in vitro activity and selectivity, enhanced brain-penetrant properties and dose‑dependent efficacy in disease models.
The molecule was discovered at its Generative AI and Quantum Computing R&D Center in Masdar City and that its Chemistry42 platform and more than 40 models screened 90 AI‑generated candidates to complete lead discovery in six months.
Insilico frames the nomination as evidence of a shift toward a technology‑driven, knowledge‑based life sciences ecosystem in Abu Dhabi and highlights prior partnerships begun in January 2023 that supported its establishment and expansion under the HELM cluster.
