Insilico Medicine and Tenacia Biotechnology are expanding an AI-driven research collaboration to design additional small-molecule therapies for central nervous system disorders.
The move builds on an initial program launched in March 2025 that paired Insilico’s Pharma.AI platform with Tenacia’s scientific insights and proprietary data to develop small-molecule inhibitors with strong blood-brain barrier permeability, and the program is progressing smoothly, according to the company.
Under the expanded agreement, the partners will use generative AI to develop a second candidate with defined properties and advance it to the preclinical candidate stage, with Insilico eligible to receive near-term and milestone payments from Tenacia. The expanded collaboration carries additional potential deal value of up to US$94.75 million.
Insilico also noted recent CNS activity, including a co-development agreement for ISM8969 targeting NLRP3, and said that the program received FDA clearance to begin Parkinson’s disease clinical trials in January 2026.
