Boston-based Life Biosciences announced the close of a fully subscribed $80 million Series D financing. The company says the proceeds will support operations through the second half of 2027 and fund the completion of its recently initiated Phase 1 clinical trial of ER-100, as well as continued advancement of its Partial Epigenetic Reprogramming platform.
ER-100 is in a Phase 1 study for open-angle glaucoma and non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy that will assess safety, tolerability and multiple measures of visual function and is registered under NCT07290244, according to the company. The company claims its PER platform uses three transcription factors, OCT4, SOX2 and KLF4 (OSK), to partially reprogram the epigenome of aged and injured cells toward a younger state, an approach the company positions to address a range of age-related diseases.
The company also says the financing will support pipeline expansion beyond ER-100 into additional therapeutic indications.
