Metashape Pharma announced that new preclinical data from a study of MS 001 combined with semaglutide will be presented at the American Diabetes Association 2026 Scientific Sessions, 5–8 June 2026 in New Orleans.
The company’s abstract was selected for both the ADA Late Breaking Poster Session (poster 3059-LB, category 23-A Obesity – Animal) on Sunday, 7 June 2026, 12:30 pm–1:30 pm, and the ePoster Theater (Transformational Translational Research in Diabetes) on Monday, 8 June 2026, 12:30 pm–1:30 pm.
The abstract, with presenting author Shanta Bantia, PhD, is under embargo until 5 June 2026, 6:30 pm CT and will be published on the Diabetes journal website after the embargo.
MS 001 (ulodesine hemiglutarate) is described by the company as an oral purine nucleoside phosphorylase inhibitor in pre-IND development intended as a small-molecule co-therapy to enhance fat-selective weight loss and preserve muscle mass when used with GLP-1 receptor agonists.
According to the company, preclinical studies in diet-induced obese mice showed increased thermogenesis, selective fat loss and muscle preservation with low-dose MS 001 plus semaglutide.
