Minerva Neurosciences reported its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2025, along with updates on its development programs targeting central nervous system disorders, according to the company.
The company continues to focus on roluperidone, a drug candidate being developed to treat negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Minerva Neurosciences said it is preparing to conduct a confirmatory Phase 3 clinical trial following discussions with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regarding requirements for a potential regulatory resubmission.
According to the company, roluperidone is designed to target serotonin, sigma and adrenergic receptors that are involved in regulating mood, cognition and behavior. The therapy is being developed to address negative symptoms of schizophrenia, which include reduced motivation, diminished emotional expression and social withdrawal.
Minerva Neurosciences also reported updates related to its financial position and operational activities during 2025. The company noted that it completed financing transactions during the year intended to support ongoing clinical development and corporate operations.
Earlier in 2025, the company secured financing through a private placement designed to fund advancement of its schizophrenia program and extend its operating runway. The company said the funding supports preparations for the planned Phase 3 study and other corporate initiatives.
