NeuroSense announced that the Korean Intellectual Property Office has issued Korean Patent Number 10-2969898 covering the composition of PrimeC, including its proprietary tablet formulation, manufacturing process, pharmacokinetic characteristics and pharmaceutical use for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
The patent is expected to provide protection in South Korea through 2042. The grant follows patent awards in Japan, Brazil, Australia and the United States and expands NeuroSense’s global intellectual property portfolio as the company prepares to initiate Phase 3 development of PrimeC.
PrimeC is an extended-release oral formulation that combines ciprofloxacin and celecoxib in a fixed-dose combination designed to target neuroinflammation, oxidative stress and dysregulated iron metabolism.
According to the company, results from its Phase 2b PARADIGM study showed meaningful slowing of disease progression, biological activity across ALS biomarkers including microRNAs and long-term data indicating a survival benefit, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared NeuroSense to begin the pivotal Phase 3 PARAGON trial expected to enroll approximately 300 participants.
