Neuvasq presented preclinical data at the ARVO 2026 meeting showing that multispecific antibodies targeting Gpr124 and Lrp6 support repair of the blood-retina barrier.
The most advanced programs are NVQ401, a bispecific antibody that activated Wnt/β-catenin signaling and reversed VEGF-induced vascular permeability in human retinal cells while demonstrating robust efficacy across three preclinical retinopathy models including reduced neovascularization and avascular areas in an oxygen-induced retinopathy model.
The company also described NVQ501, a trispecific molecule that combines β-catenin activation with VEGF neutralization, potently activated β-catenin signaling, fully inhibited VEGF-induced PLVAP, and showed enhanced efficacy versus the bispecific and an approved anti-VEGF comparator, with statistically significant reductions in avascular areas.
Neuvasq states NVQ501 is advancing toward CMC and IND-enabling studies with an estimated 15-month timeline to IND. The release frames these approaches as disease modifying alternatives to current anti-VEGF injections and cites global burdens of diabetic macular edema and wet age-related macular degeneration to underline unmet need.
