HepaRegeniX announced that an abstract reporting interim Phase 1b data for darizmetinib (HRX215) was selected for a late-breaking oral presentation at the European Association for the Study of the Liver Congress 2026 in Barcelona.
Dr Tillmann Taube, Senior Medical Director at HepaRegeniX, will present interim results from the pilot cohort of an ongoing Phase 1b/2a trial in patients undergoing hepatectomy for colorectal cancer liver metastases; the presentation is scheduled for 30 May 2026, 1:45 to 2:00 pm CEST in a late-breaker session (abstract LB26-5130, presentation LBO-004).
The company will also present the scientific rationale for darizmetinib and MKK4 inhibition at the 5th International Symposium on Regenerative Hepatology on 26 May.
Darizmetinib is an oral small-molecule inhibitor of Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Kinase 4 that, according to the company, selectively inhibits MKK4, stabilizes and protects hepatocytes and accelerates liver regeneration in preclinical models. The company claims the approach could expand surgical eligibility by preventing post-operative liver failure in patients with insufficient future liver remnant and could have applications in living donor transplantation and other liver diseases.
HepaRegeniX is advancing darizmetinib to prevent post-hepatectomy liver failure and is also developing HRX233 in oncology.
