Alzheon will present nine posters at the alzheimer’s association international conference 2026 in London from July 12 to 15 detailing expanded analyses from its phase 3 APOLLOE4 trial, phase 2 biomarker studies and long-term extension cohorts for its investigational oral agent Valiltramiprosate (ALZ-801).
The presentations cover neurovascular outcomes and amyloid-related imaging abnormalities, diffusion tensor imaging and volumetric MRI correlations with clinical endpoints, plasma p-tau217 findings, sustained efficacy and safety up to four years, and a quantitative systems pharmacology evaluation of Valiltramiprosate as a potential oral maintenance therapy following anti-amyloid antibody treatment.
According to the company, the phase 3 and extension analyses show neurovascular protection, lower rates of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities versus placebo, preservation of hippocampal microstructure, reductions in plasma p-tau217 and clinically meaningful benefits on cognition and brain volume in the pre-specified mild cognitive impairment subgroup.
The company acknowledged that the phase 3 trial did not meet its primary endpoint.
Presentations will also discuss implications for apoe4/4 patients, who have a high prevalence of cerebral amyloid angiopathy, and potential relevance for other high-risk groups.
