New webinar set to raise profile of ovarian longevity

Up and ova: we’re putting ovarian aging – what it is and why it’s so very important to longevity – centre stage with a ground-breaking webinar. Join us!

Recently, we launched our report on ovarian aging, setting our our vision for a future with greater investment and research into science and technology to extend fertility and delay menopause. Now we are amplifying that message with a free webinar featuring Dr Jennifer Garrison of the Buck Institute, Dr Keshav Singh, the Harbert Endowed Chair in Cancer Genetics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and our own Scientific Editor and report author Daragh Campbell.

Longevity.Technology: It’s time for a radical re-think of fertility and menopause; ovaries set the pace for aging and changing that pace could be the key to improving women’s healthspan and lifespan. However, the field is hampered, both by a lack of research and a lack of education; understanding the ovarian dynamic could allow more informed choices about fertility, better therapies and improved wellness in later years. We think this issue doesn’t get the attention it deserves, so we are inviting you to a webinar in which we’ll aim to demystify ovarian aging and explain why research and investment in this area is so important.

Jennifer Garrison is an Assistant Professor at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging and Founder and Faculty Director of the Global Consortium for Reproductive Longevity & Equality, which is pioneering a moonshot initiative to advance the science focused on female reproductive aging.

Keshav Singh is director of the Cancer Genetics Program and the Harbert Endowed Chair in Cancer Genetics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is the founder of Yuva Biosciences which seeks to leverage the cutting edge of mitochondrial science to make aging easier.

Our unique online webinar on ovarian longevity will explore what’s possible and where will science take us over the coming years.

Date: 14th October 2021
Time: 8am Pacific / 11am Eastern / 4pm UK / 5pm CET
Location: Zoom
Our panel will dive into:

  • How does aging impact the number of oocytes (potential eggs) a woman has
  • How does aging impact the quality of a woman’s oocytes
  • How menopause impacts a women’s health

“The science and research into ovarian aging has grown massively in the past five years, but very few companies are actively engaged in developing interventions,” says Longevity.Technology Scientific Editor and report author Daragh Campbell. “Discoveries are being made all over the world that need to be taken on by investors and those who can translate the science into safe and effective products. Discovering the processes involved in ovarian aging, and how to target them, will be a massive breakthrough for female healthspan and lifespan .”
