Omada Health released results from a 12-week comparative study showing members enrolled in its GLP-1 Care Track lost more weight and achieved better body composition than a control group. According to the company, the study followed 245 adults with obesity (BMI ≥30), including 151 Omada members and 94 controls who had recently started a GLP-1 for weight management.
Omada members lost an average of 6.0% of starting weight versus 3.3% for controls, a 1.8-fold difference, reduced body fat percentage by 3.3%—about twice the reduction seen in controls, and increased muscle mass percentage nearly threefold.
Participants used at-home scales to track weight and body composition and completed surveys on mental health, well-being, self-efficacy, and physical function.
The company claims members also reported greater improvements in mental health, physical functioning, and confidence in their ability to lose weight.
Omada describes the GLP-1 Care Track as a wraparound program combining human care teams, personalized strength-focused exercise programming, and digital tools to protect lean mass and improve quality of weight loss; the study was conducted under Omada Insights Lab ANSWERS and complements the provider’s experience supporting more than two million members, including about 150,000 on GLP-1s.
