Longevity.Technology Founder and CEO will share his outlook on the longevity investment landscape at key summit in Berlin.
The Rejuvenation Startup Summit has announced that our very own Phil Newman will be a speaker at the 2022 Summit held in October in Berlin.
Speaking on The longevity investment landscape, Phil will explore the mapping of longevity domains and categories, key areas attracting investment and the clinical stages of longevity biotechs. He’ll also examine the funding stages of longevity biotechs and give an outlook for longevity investing.
Longevity.Technology: Phil is a seasoned marketing and business development professional. He is Editor-in-Chief Longevity.Technology and founder of First Longevity which brings together international investors and longevity start-ups. In his career, Phil has held c-level management positions, applying his marketing and business development expertise into various tech sectors, including longevity, IoT, AI, medical devices, biopharma, 3D manufacturing, smartgrid and sustainability.
As Phil told Alex Zhavoronkov when Alex interviewed him for Forbes recently, the sector is seeing investment activity really pick up. We are only just halfway through 2022, and already $4.1 billion has been invested into longevity businesses so far this year – more than the whole of 2021.
Despite the current blip in the financial market, we have not seen a slowdown in investors’ interest in longevity; clinical pathways take many years, which, coupled with their strong IP, says Phil, gives longevity biotechs the ability to ride-out this current downturn.
Much longevity investment growth is driven by the big ticket diseases of aging like Alzheimer’s, CVD and atherosclerosis, and the trajectory for the various therapeutics making their way through clinical pipelines is positive – Phil is looking forward to reflecting on this at the Summit.
