Whole-body MRI provider to roll out ‘AI-enabled preventive and longevity care’ packages at centers across the US.
Diagnostic imaging provider SimonMed has launched a new longevity division, leveraging whole-body MRI and multi-modality screening in a new suite of proactive, preventive health services. Dubbed SimonMed Longevity, the new programs are designed for individuals who want to establish a health baseline, monitor changes over time and discover potential issues earlier, when there may still be opportunities to intervene.
Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, SimonMed operates more than 170 diagnostic imaging centers across 10 states, providing everything from routine X-rays to complex cardiac MRI. With its new longevity program, the company is combining its expertise and scale with new advancements in AI to push imaging further upstream into prevention and long-term health planning.
At the core of the program are tiered MRI packages leveraging 3T MRI scanners, paired with AI-enabled imaging protocols and interpretation by the company’s radiologists. Pricing for SimonMed’s longevity whole-body MRI offerings range from around $1,000 to more than $2,000, as the company targets the growing market for consumer-focused preventive imaging, popularized by companies like Prenuvo and Ezra.
“With our Core MRI packages, we’ve been very intentional about what information matters most,” SimonMed founder Dr John Simon told us, explaining that the company’s basic package focuses on major organs in the torso and measures like liver fat quantification and gender-specific pelvic imaging.
“This is ideal for patients who want a quick, clear baseline of their health and insight into common risk areas,” said Simon. “For those who want deeper insight, our Core Plus options add advanced head, neck, and full-spine imaging – particularly valuable for people in higher-risk professions, those with a relevant family history or past injuries, or anyone seeking a more context into their health.”
Beyond MRI, SimonMed Longevity also leans into the company’s broader diagnostic portfolio, offering enhanced screening packages that combine whole-body MRI with lab testing, body composition analysis and optional add-ons such as cardiac CT angiography, lung cancer screening, DEXA scans for bone health, mammography, joint imaging, ultrasound and genetic testing.
While the popularity of whole body MRI continues to grow apace, the subject remains contentious, with some questioning the clinical value of the technology in average-risk populations, pointing to the potential for incidental findings, unnecessary follow-up and anxiety. The approach has also faced increased scrutiny due to a ongoing lawsuit alleging that a Prenuvo scan failed to identify a significant narrowing in a major brain artery shortly before a patient suffered a debilitating stroke.
Still, as healthcare continues to grapple with rising chronic disease and an aging population, SimonMed is betting that whole-body imaging can play a larger role in helping people understand their health earlier and make more informed decisions over time. The company plans to initially roll out its longevity services at 30 locations nationwide, with an expansion to more than 70 sites by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
“Preventive imaging shouldn’t be a standalone offering – it should be part of routine healthcare,” said Simon.
