Voyager Therapeutics presented three-month GLP toxicology data at ASGCT showing its investigational tau-silencing gene therapy VY1706 was well tolerated and reduced tau protein up to 64% in key brain regions of non-human primates 13 weeks after a single IV dose.

The GLP study reported no adverse clinical pathology or histopathological findings up to the highest dose tested (5E13 vg/kg) and dose-dependent reductions of up to 51-75% MAPT mRNA and 48-64% tau protein in target brain regions. The company states its FDA investigational new drug application process for VY1706 is on track for Q2 2026 to support projected first-in-human dosing in H2 2026, pending regulatory clearance.

Voyager also presented seven additional oral and poster studies at ASGCT highlighting TRACER capsid innovations for muscle and neuromuscular targeting, immune evasion strategies and manufacturing optimizations that the company claims support scalable production. These findings form the basis for advancing VY1706 into clinical testing later in 2026 if regulatory milestones are met.
