Telomir announced a collaboration with The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, reporting preclinical in vitro findings that Telomir-Zn inhibited cell growth in human and canine osteosarcoma models.
The study, conducted under Shay Bracha, evaluated Telomir-Zn across three cell lines HOS, D17 and Abrams and found dose-dependent anti-tumor activity with growth inhibition at similar low drug concentrations.
According to the company, the results establish a translational foundation to evaluate the compound in naturally occurring canine osteosarcoma and to support a parallel development pathway while its TNBC program advances toward site initiation and Phase 1/2 patient enrollment under an active IND cleared by the FDA.
Telomir is assessing next steps with Ohio State for a potential in vivo efficacy study in canine osteosarcoma.
Telomir-Zn targets intracellular iron and copper homeostasis, disrupts labile iron pools and inhibits iron dependent histone demethylases to reverse cancer associated epigenetic silencing. These are preclinical findings and additional in vivo and clinical testing will be required to determine safety and efficacy.
