TruDiagnostic and NADMED partner on new NAD blood diagnostic

Using novel test, US healthcare providers can test patients’ NAD+ levels at home or in the clinic.

Doctors in the US can now access a novel NAD+ blood diagnostic for their patients thanks to a new partnership between epigenetic laboratory TruDiagnostic and Finland-based NAD diagnostic company NADMED. The TruDiagnostic kit allows blood collection at doctors’ offices or at home; once samples arrive via post at the TruDiagnostics laboratory, they are analyzed with NADMED technology.

Longevity.Technology: This would appear to be a match made in longevity heaven! TruDiagnostic specializes in understanding and interpreting the fluid epigenome and is currently involved in several clinical studies to examine the effectiveness of products that claim to offer antiaging benefits, and research projects to create and validate other algorithms to track aging and disease. To offer these novel NAD+ blood tests, TruDiagnostic has teamed up with NADMED, leveraging the accuracy and methodology that has recently made longevity headlines by producing the only EU-approved NAD+ testing kit.

As longevity enthusiasts are aware, NAD+ is a molecule with a significant relationship to aging, diseases of aging and many other diseases. Low NAD+ levels have been linked to improper immune function, metabolic disease, dementia, neurodegeneration, CVD and more. NAD+ is essential to sustaining optimal cellular function, but levels in your body markedly decline with age.

NADMED’s Q-NADMED Blood Kit is CE-marked for measuring NAD+ and NADH from a small blood sample for a range of clinical purposes and is the only me.thod for the NAD measurement to have received a CE-marking.

“We appreciate TruDiagnostic’s agile, yet diligent approach to introducing a novel technology to their customers in the US market,” said Jari Närhi, NADMED CEO and Co-Founder. “We foresee a fruitful cooperation to continuously develop business and service models to meet the needs for NAD testing of the varied customer base [1].”

Additional competitive advantages for NADMED rest in the extraction technique, which is simple and robust, and works with blood samples; and a quick and reliable detection method. Another advantage of NADMED testing kits is that it allows accurate, quantitative detection of metabolites in a sample due to know-how regarding preparation and preservation of NAD standards used in the kit.

TruDiagnostic decided to partner with NADMED for the test’s accuracy and reliability, feeling the high level of reliability is consistent with TruDiagnostic’s internal standards.

Ryan Smith TruDiagnostic Founder and Vice President, said: “As the largest biological age testing laboratory in the US, we had always wanted to test for this important metabolite. However, the US market did not have an accurate lab test available. That is why we were excited to see the work and resume of NADMED. NADMED had studies showing reliability versus the gold standard of LC-MS and they had regulatory approval. Together, this allowed us to feel the testing was finally reliable enough to go to market [2].”
