Vandria announced it has been awarded $3.8 million in non-dilutive funding from Innosuisse and the Eurostars program to advance its drug pipeline targeting age-related diseases of the central nervous system and muscle. According to the company, these grants will help accelerate preclinical and translational research efforts.
The company said the funding will support development of novel therapeutics aimed at improving mitochondrial function and cellular resilience in conditions linked to aging. Vandria claims its drug candidates could address unmet needs in neurodegenerative diseases and muscle disorders associated with mitochondrial decline.
According to the company, the grants will enable further optimization of lead compounds, safety testing and preparation for future clinical studies. Vandria said its research strategy integrates proprietary screening technologies to identify molecules that restore energy balance and reduce cellular stress.
Vandria claims the awarded funding reflects external validation of its scientific approach and potential impact on age-related disease treatment. The company said it plans to use the support to strengthen its pipeline and move closer to clinical translation of its mitochondrial-targeted therapies.
The company also noted it remains focused on addressing diseases driven by mitochondrial dysfunction, which it believes play a key role in aging and chronic health decline.
