Vasa Therapeutics announced 11 May 2026 that an abstract on VS-214 has been selected for oral presentation at the American Heart Association’s Vascular Discovery: From Genes to Medicine Scientific Sessions, scheduled 13–16 May 2026 in Bellevue, Washington.

The presentation is set for 14 May 2026 during Concurrent Session 1b from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Regency Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue and will be delivered by Chief Executive Officer Artur Plonowski, MD, PhD.

According to the company, VS-214 is a long-acting peptide analog of apelin designed to promote neovascularization, improve limb perfusion and restore muscle endurance in patients with symptomatic peripheral artery disease, and the program is advancing toward a first-in-human study in 2026.

The company cites an estimated 10 to 12 million Americans affected by PAD and states the disease contributes to roughly 400 non-traumatic limb amputations per day in the United States, highlighting an unmet need for pharmacological treatments.
