On 27 May 2026, Verge Labs, formerly Verge Genomics, launched as a frontier AI lab focused on building foundation models of human disease biology and accelerating CNS drug development.

Headquartered in San Francisco and founded in 2015, Verge is training generative AI models on VergeDB, its proprietary multimodal human brain dataset; according to the company, VergeDB includes more than 12,000 brain transcriptomes from about 6,000 patients, 15 million single-cell profiles, and matched proteomic, genomic and clinical data, alongside linked blood, CSF and imaging from living patients to enable a virtual biopsy from a blood draw.

The company targets surfaced by its platform validated at 83 percent against downstream experimental confirmation across a decade of programs, and its first AI-discovered asset completed a Phase 1b in late 2025 with trial data incorporated into VergeDB as a core training signal.

Verge also announced four senior hires from Flatiron Health, PostEra, Altos Labs and Calico to lead business, product, AI research and computational biology. Select drug developers are engaged with the platform, with initial partnerships focused on CNS, according to the company.
