Wearable for seniors that tracks even subtle changes in activity launches

CarePredict introduces CareVoice wearable for seniors – “your voice on their wrist”.

CarePredict, an AI-powered digital health company for senior care, is set to introduce CareVoice, a new feature on its award-winning Tempo wearable for seniors, at CES 2022, one of the world’s biggest tech shows. CareVoice aims to provide peace of mind to families caring for seniors living independently. Using CareVoice, families and caregivers can record and schedule recurring or one-time reminders for medications or appointments and even schedule voice messages to play from the Tempo on a special occasion.

Longevity.Technology: 90% of older adults nationwide want to remain living in their homes if possible, but this can lead to anxiety for relatives, who want to foster independent living, but in a safe environment. The demand for technology to allow safe, independent living and reduce isolation and loneliness is on the up, and healthcare infrastructure, companies and investors are responding to the call.

We recently published a detailed report that explains the drivers and catalysts behind aging in place, examining why it is needed and how the world is responding and also includes a deep dive into the pathways and interventions offered by aging in place, looking at context and market place.

“CareVoice aims to improve the quality of life for thousands of seniors who wish to age independently in the comfort of their home,” said Satish Movva, CEO & Founder, CarePredict. “With CareVoice, it is like you are there with mom or dad, providing gentle reminders or assisting them with day-to-day activities. And you know mom or dad will not miss your message because it will be played automatically from the Tempo on their wrist [1].”

CareVoice wants to be a valuable tool for those suffering from memory loss or early dementia, when timely reminders can be extremely beneficial. This sort of tech is also especially helpful for caregivers who live far away from their aging loved ones, allowing everyone in what CareVoice dubs the “CareCircle” to stay connected. Using the CarePredict TouchPoint app, caregivers can record and schedule reminders and messages or upload pre-recorded audio files to be played from the Tempo.

CareVoice claims Tempo is the world’s first wearable that autonomously tracks subtle changes in a senior’s daily activity and behaviour patterns that precede changes in health. Prevention is always better than cure, and small alterations which might not be obvious at first glance, can, over time, spotlight an underlying condition or alert carers to a deterioration that needs action.

The device also alerts families on concerning trends such as missed meals, restless sleep, or increased sedentary behaviours. CareVoice is the newest feature of the multifunctional Tempo wearable (a CES 2020 Innovation Award honouree in the wearables category).

Tempo’s other compelling features include two-way communication that allows seniors to speak directly with family members for immediate reassurance, intelligent fall detection and an industry-first activity score.
