An interdisciplinary team of bioscientists has developed a novel formula that aims to help people live longer and healthier lives by restoring health at the cellular level.
Wellness biosciences company Wonderfeel has announced a US patent application and significant human clinical trial for their launch of Youngr – a novel synthesis combining NAD+ precursor NMN with emergent antioxidants with the aim of creating a predominant supplement to maximise healthspan.
Longevity.Technology: Supplements that contain NAD+ and its precursor NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) are becoming increasingly popular due to the growing body of evidence that this vital molecule can suppress age-associated weight gain, enhance energy metabolism and physical activity, improve insulin sensitivity, improve eye function, improve mitochondrial metabolism and prevent age-linked changes in gene expression [1]. Add into the mix the fact that sirtuins (the so-called “guardians of the genome” that regulate cellular homeostasis) only work in the presence of NAD+, and it would seem as if anything that boosts NAD+ is a winner.
Wonderfeel has gone one step further, however, by adding antioxidants, molecules that protect your cells against the oxidative stress caused by harmful free radicals. Oxidative stress can damage cells and genetic material and is linked to aging and a host of diseases.
NAD+ levels begin to decrease once we are in our 30s, and this decline contributes to biological aging at a cellular level. In addition, diminished amounts of NAD+ are associated with the hallmarks of aging, as well as several age-related diseases [2]. To try to combat this, Wonderfeel has launched Youngr, a novel, patented solution that is designed to increase NAD+ production. Increasing NAD+ levels can lead to improved cognition, energy levels, skin elasticity, overall organ health and more.
With the launch of Youngr, Wonderfeel believes it has advanced longevity science for those it feels will benefit most – adults aged 35+.

“From a historical perspective, we are at an inflection point in biosciences where we can advance people’s well-being to unprecedented levels,” says Baran Dilaver, Co-Founder of Wonderfeel.
“To achieve such levels, a two pronged approach is crucial – the first approach is to leverage recent discoveries to build our physiological health starting at the molecular level, and the second is by enhancing our happiness and mental fitness. Youngr is a breakthrough product addressing that anatomical approach while providing great benefits for brain health and cognition.”
In addition to 900 mg of NAD+ precursor NMN, a daily serving of Youngr delivers:
- 4 mg of ergothioneine – part of a group of compounds dubbed the “longevity vitamins”, ergothioneine is an effective compound found in mushrooms. Continued scientific evidence suggests this powerful antioxidant has significant cognitive benefits and is increasingly thought to play a role in protecting against age-related and neurodegenerative disease.
- 20 mg of hydroxytyrosol – a potent polyphenol with metabolistic, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumour properties. This compound is derived from the leaves and fruit of the olive plant, and is among the strongest antioxidants.
- 100 mg of resveratrol – working jointly with NMN as a sirtuin activator, resveratrol can boost mitochondrial activity and allay metabolic disease. Studies have shown that resveratrol at a lower dose acts as an anti-apoptotic agent, thus increasing cell survival proteins.
Andrew Salzman, Harvard MD and Wonderfeel’s chief scientist, piloted the core research behind Youngr, building on decades spent in drug discovery and development and researching NAD+ science and genomic pathways.
“NMN alone is incredibly beneficial. But the ability of NMN and NAD to be effective in the cell is dependent on low oxidative stress,” explains Salzman. “Oxidant stress is present at all times in our cells, particularly as we grow older. Fortunately, the antioxidants packaged into Youngr can shield our cells from much of that stress, meaning the NMN we’re delivering is ultimately more effective.”
Wonderfeel has partnered with Abinopharm, to analyse, interpret and release their preliminary findings from what the company claims is the largest double blind study conducted to date on the effects of NMN. According to Dr Salzman, the results are promising, with men and women aged 40-65 who took various doses of NMN supplement showing significantly improved health scores and biomarkers – we’ll be looking forward to covering that paper once published.
We’ll be sitting down with Dr Andrew Salzman to discuss his research and Youngr shortly – stay tuned!
