Prenuvo released research analyzing whole-body MRI and sleep data from 14,031 adults in collaboration with sleep scientists at UT Dallas.
According to the company, the analysis found that higher sleep efficiency was associated with lower visceral fat and greater parietal gray matter volume, while sleeping more than eight hours was associated with smaller hippocampal volume.
The study used intake questions based on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and adjusted for age, sex, body mass index, scanner location and head size.
The company says the work leveraged Prenuvo’s whole-body MRI platform and builds on the Prenuvo Research Network and an Imaging Biobank containing more than 200,000 scans.
Prenuvo currently operates in 26 clinics across North America, Australia and Europe.
